1 But I'm a comb-and-paper-playing whale-choir-conducting musicotherapologist?!

Given the diversity of roles played by people in the music industry, we've inevitably missed a few things here and there. Don't fret, this isn't victimisation, most likely just an oversight.

So, if you find that there's no way to comfortably pigeon-hole yourself with the categories available, then please use the 'Other' box at the bottom of the form. You can even give us a clue where you think your 'other' category should go via the Special Request box, if it's not obvious. We'll do what we can to accommodate you as quickly as possible.

2 How do I edit my information?

On the right-hand side of your directory listing is a link entitled 'This is me and I would like to edit my record'. Clicking on this brings up a form headed 'Request a listing change'. Your current information is already completed so make any changes you wish. When you click save at the bottom, you'll receive an email acknowledging your request. We'll also receive one, and will respond as quickly as possible to let you know we've actioned your request.

3 What information should I include?

As much as possible about your role or roles within your own music universe.  There's no limit to the number of categories you can select.

To save your record, you will need to include a name, email address and postcode (or the first half at least). This is so we can confirm any changes to your listing and monitor the number of music makers based and/or operating in the Lancaster district.

You can choose whether you want your email address and postcode visible on your listing.  If you do it'll help people find you. If that's what you want of course.  Don't include anything you are not happy to share.

4 How do I remove myself?

On the right-hand side of your directory listing is a link entitled 'This is me and I would like to be removed'. Clicking on this will trigger an email to your address acknowledging your request. We'll also receive one, and will respond as quickly as possible to let you know we've actioned your request.

If you do choose to remove yourself, please reply to the notification to tell us why. It can only help us to make the site better for other users.

5 Why can't I see my changes immediately?

For your security, changes to your record have to be approved by an administrator.  We vet all change requests to ensure no one amends your record with abusive or misleading information.  This means you may experience a short delay while we check your Magic Word (if you've submitted one) or take other steps to verify the request.  But you will receive a confirmation email when the change has been made.

We may reject a change request if we suspect it may not have come from you, i.e. it contains abusive or misleading information. If for some strange reason you have opted to make these changes to your own record, please let us know, I'm sure we'll work something out.

6 Why are you collecting this information?

Two main reasons...

i) one of the objectives of The Lemon project is to be able to demonstrate to stakeholders, investors and anyone vaguely interested, the make-up of Lancaster's music infrastructure, and

ii) bringing it together in one place can only make life easier for musicians, fans, suppliers and producers in this area to get more involved and make more happen.
